Bournemouth midfielder Nnamdi Ofoborh has agreed the terms of a pre-contract with Rangers, Football Insider can reveal.

The 21-year-old's current deal with the Cherries expires in the summer and the Glasgow giants have swooped in.

Ibrox sources have told Football Insider the deal is expected to be announced next week.

Rangers have reached an agreement in principle with the player over a deal that would see him commit to joining when his Bournemouth deal expires in June.

Cross-border rules allow the runaway Scottish Premiership leaders to secure Ofoborh's signature from this month onwards.

The agreement comes after Football Insider revealed on Friday that the midfielder has rejected two new contract offers from Bournemouth.

Ofoborh moved to the Vitality Stadium from Millwall in 2017 and has progressed through the ranks to make five first-team appearances.

However, he is still waiting to make his full league debut for the Championship side.

The former Nigeria Under-20 international spent last season on loan at Wycombe Wanderers and scored twice in 25 appearances to help Gareth Ainsworth's side gain promotion from League One.

A central midfielder by trade, Ofoborh can also play as a centre-half if required.

It is understood that Gers recruitment chief Ross Wilson is close to the defender’s agent which could prove pivotal in a potential deal.
