PSV Eindhoven sensation Cody Gakpo is set to change agents in a boost to Premier League clubs including Leeds United, sources have told Football Insider.

The Yorkshire giants tried to prise the forward, 23, from the Dutch club in the summer, with the club’s director of football Victor Orta travelling to Holland in the hope of signing him.

But PSV rejected offers from multiple Premier League clubs, with Man United, Everton and Southampton among the others in hot pursuit.

However, Gakpo's long-term future in Eindhoven is far from secure despite a contract with the club that runs until the summer of 2026.

He is currently represented by Dutch agency SEG but it is understood he has set his sights on finding new representatives ahead of a transfer next year.

That is regarded by those with knowledge of Gakpo's situation as a "huge" development in his future, and will provide encouragement to Leeds and his other Premier League suitors.

News of United's bid was subsequently confirmed by PSV director of football Marcel Brands.

"Cody has had a difficult preparation with us because he has spoken with Manchester United," he told ED. "They didn't come until mid-August and didn't go through."

Gakpo has made a strong start to the new season with 10 goals and nine assists from 13 matches in all competitions.

He continued his outstanding run with a goal and three assists in Sunday's 4-3 league win over Feyenoord.
