Leeds United are making progress on the signing of Todd Cantwell from Norwich City as they look to take their summer spending close to the £100million mark, Football Insider understands.

The Premier League club have already reached an agreement with Bayern Munich over the capture of central midfielder Michael Cuisance.

A near-£20m deal is in place and the Frenchman, 21, could be unveiled today as Leeds' latest marquee signing.

A recruitment source has told Football Insider that Leeds are also in talks to secure a winger ahead of next Monday's transfer deadline.

Discussions have continued this week and the Championship club have indicated they are open to a deal.

Cantwell is also eager to move to Elland Road and has made that clear to Norwich in what represents a key breakthrough.

A deal is not yet agreed but all parties are working towards it and the England Under-21 international could join Cuisance, Robin Koch, Diego Llorente and Rodrigo Moreno and become another big-money Leeds recruit.

United have other possible alternatives in place after Marcelo Bielsa made it clear he wants another wide attacking option in his squad.
