Ibrox sources have told Football Insider that McPake has been offered a three-year contract that is on much improved terms compared to current deal, which expires in 12 months.

This is a major boost to Rangers as the teenager is so highly rated he has attracted interest from a number of top European clubs, including ones in Italy and Germany.

He had previously rejected a new contract from the Glasgow giants, earlier in the year, but the fresh breakthrough means he is set to continue the excellent impression he has made coming through the youth ranks at Ibrox.
