Leeds are lining up a bid for Barnsley forward Tom Bradshaw in the summer transfer window and a latest development surrounding the Wales international has handed the Whites a major boost going into the coming months.

Sky Sports reported on their live transfer blog on Thursday [12:30pm] that Bradshaw, 25, has been told that he can leave Oakwell in the summer, which will offer Leeds a lot of motivation in their bid to sign him.

This latest development now seems to prove that Leeds' Yorkshire rivals want to get rid of the former Walsall centre-forward no matter what, which is great for Paul Heckingbottom as he lines up a raid on his former club.

Leeds have really struggled to have a consistent goalscorer this term after Chris Wood quit for Burnley last year.

Bradshaw has scored 10 goals in 43 appearances across all competitions for Barnsley this season and has really struggled to get into the starting line-up since Heckingbottom quit Oakwell for Elland Road in February.

Victor Orta will surely have a say in whether Leeds go after a domestic talent such as the three-times Wales international or decide to take a risk on someone from abroad again.

Either way, this update is a huge boost for Leeds if they want Bradshaw snapped up.
