Alexander-Arnold, Darwin Nunez react to Mo Salah’s ‘wanted’ Liverpool message
Liverpool talisman Mo Salah has taken to social media to send an emotional message reflecting on the club’s Premier League title win, leading to a response from a pair of exit-linked teammates.
It has been a remarkable season for the Egyptian international, who has been the key driving force behind his side’s quest for a 20th top-flight English title.
On Sunday (27 April), Liverpool thrashed Tottenham 5-1 at Anfield to officially confirm their status as Premier League champions this season.
That ended a five-year wait for the trophy, with that last title having been awarded behind closed doors due to lockdown in 2020.
Now Salah appears to have shown just how much being able to secure the trophy in front of the club’s supporters at Anfield means to him.

Mo Salah reflects on Premier League title win
Earlier this month, and after a raft of speculation that has dominated much of the campaign, Salah signed a new two-year contract with Liverpool.
That ensures he will remain at Anfield until the end of the 2026/27 season, giving him more time to add to the multitude of trophies he has claimed since joining the club almost eight years.
The 32-year-old also clearly appears determined to ensure that does indeed prove to be the case, after reflecting on this latest success.
Taking to his Instagram page on Tuesday evening (29 April), Salah posted a picture of the entire Liverpool squad celebrating this Premier League title success in front of the Kop at Anfield.
Premier League position | Played | Points |
1. Liverpool | 34 | 82 |
2. Arsenal | 34 | 67 |
That was then accompanied by a caption which read: “This is what we wanted to deliver to our fans more than anything. This is a club that should always compete for everything and be right at the top.
“No excuses. All teams win games but in the end there’s only one champion. That’s what history remembers and this applies to next season as well.”
In response, many of the attacker’s teammates appeared to support that sentiment, with Trent Alexander-Arnold, Darwin Nunez, Virgil van Dijk, Diogo Jota and Ibrahima Konate among those to like that post.
Liverpool facing major squad turnover this summer
Football Insider Verdict
While Salah has committed his future to the club for next season, many other players look as though they will move on before then.
Alexander-Arnold looks set to join Real Madrid on a free transfer this summer when his contract at Anfield expires.
Meanwhile, Nunez is among those who is expected to be sold by Liverpool in the transfer window to make room for new arrivals.
As a result, Arne Slot‘s squad will surely look rather different come the start of the 2025/26 campaign, meaning this title was the last chance for this group of players to win a trophy together.
With that in mind, the fact they were able to secure their status as Premier League champions this season will be a relief for those connected to Liverpool for a number of reasons.
