Trent Alexander-Arnold: Liverpool exit whispers intensify after cryptic message
Liverpool defender Trent Alexander-Arnold’s latest social media post has added fuel to the rumours he may be set to join Real Madrid at the end of the season.
The 26-year-old, along with key teammates Mohamed Salah and Virgil van Dijk, is out of contract at the end of the season, with little progress reported on a potential renewal.
Real Madrid are said to be extremely interested in the right-back as they search for a long-term successor Daniel Carvajal, who ruptured his ACL earlier in the season.
Given his contract situation, the England international would be allowed to speak with foreign clubs from January 1st onwards regarding a potential free transfer in the summer.
Trent Alexander-Arnold set to follow Liverpool legend Xabi Alonso to Real Madrid?
Former Liverpool midfielder Xabi Alonso returned to Anfield for the first time as a manager on Tuesday (November 5) but was powerless to resist the home side’s quality.
Arne Slot’s side blew Bayer Leverkusen out of the water, scoring four goals in 30 minutes to go top of the new Champions League league phase.
Alonso had been linked with the Liverpool job after guiding Leverkusen to their first-ever Bundesliga title last season but instead opted to remain in Germany.
With Carlo Ancelotti faltering at Real Madrid, the Spaniard is the hot favourite to take over at the end of the current season, and Alexander-Arnold’s latest Instagram post implies he may follow.

For now, Alexander-Arnold will be focussed on Liverpool after they reclaimed the top-spot in the Premier League from current champions Man City.
They next face Unai Emery’s impressive Aston Villa side on Saturday (November 9) as Slot seeks to win the league title in his debut season.
