Trevoh Chalobah reacts to ‘classy’ Crystal Palace message after Chelsea latest

Trevoh Chalobah has reacted to the latest development at Crystal Palace amid speculation surrounding a potential move away from Chelsea this summer.

The 26-year-old spent the first half of last season playing under Oliver Glasner before he was recalled in January as a result of a defensive crisis at Chelsea.

Now, in what has been another busy transfer window at Stamford Bridge, it had been suggested that the England international could be replaced in the back line.

However, Football Insider exclusively revealed last month that Chalobah is likely to stay at Chelsea and remains a part of Enzo Maresca’s plans for the new season.

Following his return from Selhurst Park in January, the centre-back made 24 appearances, earned his first England cap and lifted the Club World Cup.

Meanwhile, Chris Richards replaced him in Crystal Palace‘s starting XI and played a key role as they lifted their first-ever major trophy, the FA Cup.

Chelsea star Trevoh Chalobah responds to Crystal Palace message

Palace have been linked with a move to sign a new centre-back this summer as industry insider Mick Brown told Football Insider that Palace want to sign Ousmane Diomande.

Meanwhile at Selhurst Park, the club have recently announced their new third kit for the upcoming season, a gold strip to commemorate their cup win.

Photos of star players in the new kit have been shared all over social media in the last couple of days, with Marc Guehi, Adam Wharton and Jean-Philippe Mateta heavily involved.

Taking to Instagram, the Eagles also shared an image of Maxence Lacroix in the new shirt, captioned “Classy guy. Classy kit.”

The post was liked by his former centre-back partner Chalobah, and Liverpool star Cody Gakpo.

Enzo Maresca to oversee fire sale at Stamford Bridge

While Chalobah is unliekly to be on his way out of Stamford Bridge this summer, other first-team players are still expected to be sold to raise funds.

Football Insider revealed on 22 July that Chelsea are launching a fire sale as they plan to move players on before making moves for new signings ahead of the new season.

The Blues are currently under UEFA sanctions, which require them to balance out their transfer outlay with player sales to register new signings for the Champions League.

Sources say that the West London side are aiming to offload some of their fringe players to raise funds and avoid further punishment.
