Alfie Dorrington sends message as Coventry City confirm loan signing
Coventry City have confirmed the signing of Romain Esse, who has joined the Midlands club on loan until the end of the season.
Frank Lampard has wasted no time in reinforcing his squad after their recent blip in form.
Yang Min-hyeok joined Coventry on loan from Tottenham earlier this week after impressing at Portsmouth in the first half of the campaign.
Now, the Sky Blues have continued to strengthen their attack, with Esse becoming their latest addition on Wednesday.
As a result, multiple people were quick to react to the signing, including Alfie Dorrington.

Coventry’s promotion hopes have taken a hit in recent weeks, and they are now winless in their last three matches.
Therefore, Lampard will be hopeful that the additions of Yang and Esse can prove to be the difference in the coming weeks as the Sky Blues aim to strengthen their grip at the top.
Upon the announcement of the signing, Esse was quick to take to his Instagram on 7 January to confirm the move.
He put: “Excited to be here and can’t wait to get started, Cov fans see you very soon,” followed by two light blue heart emojis.
Many players reacted to the post, wishing the winger luck, including Tottenham star Dorrington, who commented with a red love heart emoji.
What has Esse said about signing for Coventry?
The capture of Esse will no doubt be exciting for many Coventry fans.
Esse had impressed when given a chance on the pitch by Oliver Glasner at Crystal Palace, and scored his first Premier League goal last season with his first touch, in a 2-1 defeat to Brentford back in January 2025.
Now, Esse will be looking to utilise this attacking output in the Championship as he hopes to get a promotion on his CV.
Upon signing for the club, the attacker told Coventry on 7 January: “I’m delighted to join Coventry City.
“I’m excited to express myself on the pitch and help us fight for our goal.
“I look forward to meeting the boys, the Coventry supporters and I can’t wait to get started.”
Esse is available to play in the Sky Blues’ upcoming FA Cup tie against Stoke on Saturday, with Lampard no doubt looking to progress in the competition.
