Trippier arrival tipped to trigger Newcastle signings blizzard after Sky update – pundit
Paul Robinson has urged Newcastle United to “throw the kitchen sink” at Kieran Trippier to get a deal over the line this month.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Spurs and Leeds United goalkeeper said the 31-year-old could be the trigger for a host of big name signings.
Sky Sports reported (1 January) that Newcastle have submitted a formal bid to Atletico Madrid for Trippier.

It comes after Football Insider revealed (23 December) the England international wants wages of £120,000-a-week to join the Magpies.
Eddie Howe is keen to sign the right-back he previously managed while in charge of Burnley in 2012.
Trippier has 18 months left on his contract in Madrid.
When asked by Football Insider for his assessment of the latest, Robinson said:
“There has been a lot of talk about Trippier wanting to come back home and wanting to play in the Premier League. If that is the case and Newcastle are able to capitalise, it would be a no-brainer signing.

“Trippier is capable of playing for a top-six Premier League side. Throw the kitchen sink at him. Get a big name through the door.
“Sometimes with transfers it can be a domino rally. You get one and the rest all fall into place. If Trippier signs for Newcastle, all of a sudden to other players it is a much more attractive proposition. They would be more likely to take a similar chance.”
