Two Tottenham transfers announced today: One big-money signing, one 19/20 exit - Sources

The frenzy of transfer activity is set to intensify at Tottenham today as the club prepare to announce two senior transfers, Football Insider understands.

Spurs are putting the finishing touches to the landmark capture of winger Steven Bergwijn from PSV Eindhoven and the loan sale of right-back Kyle Walker-Peters to Southampton.

A Tottenham source has told Football Insider that all elements of both deals have been agreed and they are set to be completed today.

Spurs have agreed a £27million fee for Bergwijn and, as revealed by Football Insider on Monday, he has agreed personal terms on a long-term contract.

The versatile forward, who has been playing mainly on the left wing at PSV, started a medical last night.

As revealed by Football Insider yesterday evening, Walker-Peters arrived at Southampton to undergo a medical and finalise a loan for the rest of the season.

Ralph Hasenhuttl’s side have edged out Crystal Palace in the race for the 22-year-old Englishman as well as fended off a late ambush from West Ham.

There is not expected to be a permanent option included Walker-Peters’ Southampton loan as they could not agree on a fee with Tottenham, who set a £15million asking price on their academy product.

Jose Mourinho gave the green light for the departure of the defender, who has been carrying a hamstring injury and was once again not named in the Tottenham squad for their 1-1 FA Cup draw against Southampton last Saturday.

Bergwijn is set to immediately slot into the Spurs senior side that has been short of firepower during Harry Kane’s extended injury absence.

In other Tottenham news, Kevin Phillips has hailed a “huge” Spurs nearly-done-deal as agreement close to sign defender.
