‘Tyler Bindon unlikely to be at Nottingham Forest next season after Reading loan’

Nottingham Forest defender Tyler Bindon looks set to be on the move again come the summer transfer window.

The 20-year-old signed for the Premier League club back in the January transfer window from League One side Reading.

He was then loaned back to the Royals until the end of the current campaign, ensuring he remained with the club he has so far played for throughout his senior career.

With that loan set to come to an end imminently, Forest are seemingly already making plans for the centre-back’s future come next season.

Tyler Bindon set for second loan move

The defender has impressed throughout his time with the Royals, despite the turmoil off the field surrounding the club.

Indeed, even with Reading losing manager Ruben Selles to Hull City, Bindon still helped the club finish seventh in League One this season, just three points adrift of a play-off place.

Despite that, it appears the New Zealand international will not be going straight into Nuno Espirito Santo‘s side when he completes his move to the City Ground.

According to the latest update from The Telegraph, Bindon is set to spend pre-season with Nottingham Forest, who see him as a big player for the future.

But in order to get him ready for that, a loan move to the Championship for next season is described as being “likely” for the young defender.

Football Insider Verdict

It makes sense for Bindon to be sent out on loan from The City Ground again for the 2025/26 campaign in the circumstances.

Having just been playing League One football, the step up to the Premier League would be a big one, especially given Forest are also going to be playing European football next season.

As a result, a spell in the Championship will allow for a more gradual development to the point where he is ready to play a part for Nuno’s side which ought to help him to adjust.

Indeed, with Nikola Milenkovic and Murillo – who signed a new contract with Nottingham Forest this season – on the books, it will not be easy for Bindon to force his way into the side next season anyway.

Playing football on a consistent basis in the Championship next season could therefore prove to be more beneficial for his overall development.

Given the quality he has shown during his time at Reading as well, there is also a good chance he will have plenty of interest in his services once the window opens too.
