‘Unbelievable’ – Milos Kerkez shares his delight whilst on pre-season tour

Milos Kerkez has posted some poignant photos as he continues to get minutes under his belt for Liverpool in pre-season.

The Hungarian joined the Reds early on in the summer transfer window and has settled nicely into life in Merseyside.

The left-back completed his move from Bournemouth for a reported £40million (Sky Sports) as he looks to become Andy Robertson’s successor.

Under Andoni Iraola, the 21-year-old’s game flourished as he picked up two goals and five assists in the Premier League in 2024-25.

His pace and crossing ability caught the eye of Arne Slot who quickly purchased the ex-Alkmaar defender as Liverpool look to defend their league title.

Robertson to leave at end of season

Football Insider verdict

With the arrival of the youthful Hungarian, it is looking increasingly more likely that Robertson will be used as a rotation player next campaign.

The Scotsman has thrived for eight seasons at Anfield, winning an array of trophies including Champions Leagues and Premier Leagues.

Yet, age catches up with all players and at 31-years-old, his motoring engine is beginning to stall.

In 2024-25, the former Hull City man was often rotated with Kostas Tsimikas around fixture congestion from the Champions League.

This trend could be set to continue with the addition of Kerkez who is 10 years younger than the number 26.

Moreover, the ex-Dundee United left-back’s contract is set to expire in June 2026, according to Transfermarkt, suggesting the club may let him leave for free.

Regardless, Robertson will go down as one of the most successful left-backs the English top-flight has ever seen.

Even if he starts less under Slot next season, the Scotland international will remain a vocal character in the dressing room to spur the team on.
