Unlucky Brendan, you’re nowhere near No 1 in five greatest ever Celtic managers
2. WILLIE MALEY
Played for the first ever Hoops team in 1888, then managed the club for an incredible 43 years, from 1897 to 1940.
Firmly established the Bhoys as the biggest team in Scottish football during that time, as he lead the club to 16 championships and 14 Scottish Cups.
Brought a host of legendary players such as Jimmy McGrory, Patsy Gallacher and John McStay through the ranks, and amongst his many triumphs Maley’s side set the original record of domestic matches without defeat – 62 – which was broken by Brendan Rodgers’ side last year.
Still remembered in song at Parkhead to this day.
