Van Dijk and Heung-Min Son react to Van de Ven’s ‘tough’ message to Tottenham fans
Micky van de Ven posted an emotional message to the Tottenham supporters as he recapped a memorable season with the club.
Despite Tottenham’s poor domestic campaign, it’s a season that will live long in the memory after Spurs lifted the Europa League ending their 17-year wait for silverware.
The triumph has also earned them a place in the UEFA Super Cup this August, where they’ll take on PSG, who thrashed Inter Milan in the Champions League final.
While attention is slowly shifting to the summer and the challenges ahead, many players are still reflecting on what has been an unforgettable season. Van de Ven shared his gratitude with supporters in a heartfelt message and celebrated the journey the team has been on.

Real Madrid eye Micky van de Ven despite injury-hit Tottenham season
Van de Ven reflected on a rollercoaster season that ended in silverware, sharing an emotional message with Tottenham supporters on Instagram.
He wrote: “What a year it was, toughest season for me I would say… but we did it!
“We achieved what the club, fans, players and staff all deserved! Thankyou fans for the support. See you next season!”
His post received plenty of support, with Liverpool duo Virgil van Dijk and Cody Gakpo, as well as Tottenham captain Heung-Min Son, all liking the message.
Djed Spence left a humorous comment: “You’re kind of fast bro” while Brighton goalkeeper Bart Verbruggen added a heart emoji.
Despite the positive mood around the squad, former Manchester United chief scout Mick Brown told Football Insider that Van de Ven could be open to a move away from Tottenham if Real Madrid advance their interest.
Real Madrid have already secured the signing of Dean Huijsen but remain interested in additional centre-back options—including Van de Ven and his Spurs teammate Cristian Romero.
Van de Ven endured an injury-hit campaign, missing 30 games, but proved instrumental when fit, particularly in the Europa League final.

Tottenham set to sack Ange Postecoglou despite European success
Whether Van de Ven stays in North London remains uncertain, but it’s becoming increasingly likely he won’t be playing under Ange Postecoglou next season.
Football Insider exclusively revealed that Tottenham are set to sack Postecoglou despite the recent European triumph, following a disastrous Premier League campaign which saw Spurs finish 17th.
The club are already identifying potential replacements, with Brentford’s Thomas Frank and Fulham’s Marco Silva among those linked with the role as the Australian coach is set to leave on a high after lifting the club’s first trophy in 17 years.
