Van Dijk and Nunez react to Mac Allister’s ‘unforgettable’ Liverpool message
Alexis Mac Allister caught the attention of his Liverpool teammates as the Argentine shared a short but sweet message on social media.
The Reds celebrated a successful Premier League campaign with their supporters in the streets of Liverpool, lifting the trophy in front of thousands at the end of the 2024/25 campaign.
Arne Slot’s side won the title race by 10 points in the end, finishing the season with a 1-1 draw with Crystal Palace, a game which saw Ryan Gravenberch sent off by referee Darren England.
Mohamed Salah, who put pen to paper on another two years at Anfield, finished the campaign with 34 goals and 23 assists across all competitions, though Mac Allister was equally as important to the team’s success.

Taking to Instagram (28 May), Mac Allister shared a series of photos and videos from the club’s bus parade around Liverpool, with the simple caption: “Unforgettable.”
Many of his teammates liked the post, including captain Virgil van Dijk, Cody Gakpo, Dominik Szoboszlai, Darwin Nunez, and Luis Diaz, as well as Arsenal’s Leandro Trossard and Aston Villa’s Emi Martinez.
Arne Slot to aim higher after first season with Liverpool
Football Insider verdict
Despite lifting the Premier League trophy, many supporters were left disappointed after the Reds were knocked out of the Champions League and FA Cup at early stages.
Slot will be keen to win even more in his second season with Liverpool, much like Ange Postecoglou promised as Tottenham boss, and steps have already been taken to ensure that happens.
Milos Kerkez, Florian Wirtz, and Jeremie Frimpong are all expected to join Liverpool over the coming weeks, and that just goes to show the club’s ambition under new leadership.

Just winning the Premier League is clearly not enough for the Reds, and they must replace Trent Alexander-Arnold, who could depart before the end of his contract for the Club World Cup.
Dan Plumley told Liverpool News that Liverpool must “squeeze” Real Madrid for his early exit, but with Frimpong’s arrival very close, the club can quickly move on from the full-back.
It will be a difficult process during the summer window, with multiple players expected to leave, but the new manager is looking to create a winning team, one that can take over Europe.
