Wales legend actually applauds Thomas Tuchel for crucial England quality
England are hoping that the appointment of Thomas Tuchel can be the catalyst for them to win the 2026 World Cup.
On Thursday, October 10, the Three Lions continued their preparations for the tournament, with England thrashing Wales 3-0 at Wembley Stadium.
Bukayo Saka received plaudits for his ‘world-class’ performance after scoring a stunning goal in the first half, while Aston Villa supporters were pleased to see Morgan Rogers and Ollie Watkins on the scoresheet.
Tuchel was also praised for his demeanour on the sidelines, and the German boss has received further adulation after showing one particular quality on the night.

Thomas Tuchel praised for England squad management
Football is a team game, and even since becoming the international boss, Tuchel has emphasised ‘team’ above everything else.
The former Chelsea manager was criticised for his decision to leave Jack Grealish out of his England squad, while in-form Crystal Palace midfielder Adam Wharton also missed out.
Tuchel has been appointed England boss to make the tough calls, and former Wales defender Ashley Williams believes this is a quality that supporters haven’t seen in the past.
"The array of players has so much quality that he's going to leave someone out" 💬

Speaking on Sky Sports, Williams said: “That’s why he is the England manager because he has to make tough decisions because the squad and the array of players to select for the XI and the squad is so vast and so much quality in it.
“He’s going to have to leave somebody out, and now leaving out one of your biggest players is a big move. But I think in recent years, that’s where England may have suffered a bit by trying to play all of the bigger names.
“It’s refreshing that the manager is doing what he wants to do. I don’t think he cares what we say or what anybody says about it; he’s going to pick the team he wants for that specific camp and go with it.”
This conversation started after discussing why Jude Bellingham was left out of the England team and how they fared without him.
Tuchel’s man management can win England the World Cup
England have a world-class squad and will be one of the pre-tournament favourites when the World Cup kicks off next June.
Tuchel has more than one quality player for each position, particularly in attacking areas, and that hands him a huge selection headache.
Fortunately, he’s already shown he isn’t afraid of making the big decisions, doing so by leaving multiple top-drawer players out of his squad.
For England to have huge success in the tournament, Tuchel’s man management will be vital, with the German looking to make history next summer.
