Warburton weighing up another Rangers raid with 26-year-old in his sights – report

By Harvey Byrne

Former boss and current Nottingham Forest manager Mark Warburton is weighing up another Rangers raid with Wes Foderingham in his sights, according to a report.

The Scottish Sun have claimed on their website that the 26-year-old goalkeeper is being eyed by the Championship club, who have already brought in attacker Barrie McKay from Ibrox this summer.

It is said that the senior man is desperate to bring in a goalkeeper this summer as he prepares to push Forest up the Championship table next season.

The Midlands club currently have Stephen Henderson, Vladimir Stojkovic, Dimitar Evtimov and Jordan Smith in their keeper ranks.

But, Warburton is now looking to be reunited with his old Ibrox number one, who is also valued highly with the Gers and it is said that the English club will have to put up “hard cash” if they are to bring him in this summer.

Football Insider verdict:

Foderingham is simply a must keep for Rangers this summer. Yes, the goalkeeper can be improved upon and he himself has his own faults, but there is also a lack of realistic options out there that the Gers can bring in to replace the number one. Additionally, Rangers will be keen to ensure they don’t hand any more favours to old boss Warburton, who departed in controversial circumstances earlier in the year. Therefore, Rangers must make sure they retain the services of the goalkeeper this summer.
