Arsenal fans react on Twitter as Gnabry scores brace for Werder Bremen

By Will Butcher

Arsenal fans are seething on Twitter as Serge Gnabry continued his wonderful form for Werder Bremen by scoring twice against Wolfsburg.

Gnabry, 21, scored his ninth and tenth goal of the season for Werder as they secured a fantastic 2-1 away win at Volkswagen Arena, with his goals coming in the 10th and 18th minutes.

The two-time Germany international left Arsenal in the summer for just over £4million and has hit the ground running in his home country with 10 goals in 21 outings.

His first came after picking the ball up on the edge of the box before lashing a shot home via a deflection, before he scored a second from close range into the roof of the net.

Arsenal fans are gutted on Twitter, as they continue to think what could have been. Most were disappointed with their club’s decision to sell the speed machine, while others were happy for his career.

Here is a selection of their messages on Twitter:

Gnabry is currently Werder’s top scorer with 10 strikes, as he looks to fire his side away from a relegation battle as they move up to 15th place.

Making his Gunners debut in September 2012 against Coventry, Gnabry was hampered by injury and fierce competition and managed just 18 appearances in total before leaving.
