‘Every side is beatable’ – Wes Foderingham makes bold claim ahead of Rangers v Celtic
Wes Foderingham has thrown down the gauntlet ahead of Rangers’ visit to Celtic Park on Saturday, boldly claiming that Celtic are beatable.
The Gers goalkeeper, as quoted by the club’s official Twitter account, has revealed that he and his team-mates are looking to win in the East End of Glasgow, and that despite Celtic’s good record they are beatable.
“Every side is beatable. They have been very good, but we will go there and look to get a victory”, he said, before claiming : “We go into any fixture looking to win.”
Celtic’s British record 69 game unbeaten domestic run came to an end earlier this month when Hearts demolished the Scottish champions 4-0 at Tynecastle.
Rangers go into the match on the back of a 2-0 win over Motherwell, a result which keeps then 11 points behind Scottish Premiership leaders Celtic but only three points behind second placed Aberdeen.
The Gers have proved that they can win at difficult venues this season, they have won at Pittodire and Easter Road, but heading to Celtic Park seems a far tougher prospect than playing Aberdeen and Hibs.
Last season Graeme Murty, whilst in caretaker charge of the Ibrox side before the appointment of Pedro Caixinha, lead his side to an unlikely 1-1 draw at Celtic Park thanks to a late equaliser by Clint Hill and a controversial penalty not given to Celtic.
The first match between the sides this season was comfortably won 2-0 by Celtic at Ibrox in September, thanks to goals by Tom Rogic and Leigh Griffiths.
