Feghouli could secure West Ham exit by Thursday – report
By Danny Wright
Sofiane Feghouli could put an end to his West Ham nightmare by Thursday evening, according to a report.
BeINSports claims that Turkish giants Galatasaray are intent on securing the 27-year-old’s signature within the next few days for a transfer said to be worth £4.5million.
The winger had only signed a three-year contract at the London Stadium last summer following his free transfer from La Liga side Valencia.
However after just four goals and three assists in 27 appearances across all competitions, it is understood that Feghouli’s stay in east London is coming to an end.
BeINSports also reports that Feghouli’s representative Ahmet Bulut has revealed that his client’s transfer will be completed in a few days.
West Ham’s transfer business last summer has been widely criticised after what was a dour 2016/17 Premier League campaign which saw them come nowhere near to achieving the success they had earned just a year prior.
Algerian international Feghouli was one of several foreign imports in the attacking area that failed to live up to the expectations of the ambitions Irons support.
Football Insider Verdict
West Ham have definitely paid the price for what was a terrible summer of transfers last year. Feghouli is just one of a number of flops bought in by Slaven Bilic and even though he was pretty much useless in attack, the deal does represent some financial gain. The ex-Valencia man only arrived at the London Stadium on a free transfer, so anything that the Irons pocket from a potential sale is good news and could boost Bilic’s funds in replacing him. The Croatian boss has a good midfield on his hands and with the arrival of Marko Arnautovic, he has already found a replacement for Feghouli. Robert Snodgrass should be the next one to be shown the exit door by the Irons.
In other West Ham news, the Hammers are also looking to replace this 30-year-old if he secured his exit this summer.
