Arsenal and West Ham players are among those to react after Murillo shared a contract announcement at Nottingham Forest.
The centre-back has been in outstanding form for Nuno Espirito Santo’s side this season, helping them mount a push for a top-four spot in the Premier League at the very least.
That has inevitably led to speculation around his future, with the likes of Liverpool and Chelsea touted as potential destinations for the 22-year-old.
However, Murillo will now not be going anywhere in the near future, after Nottingham Forest announced on Tuesday (21 January) that the Brazilian has signed a contract extension until the summer of 2029.

Having confirmed his contract extension, Murillo was not surprisingly pleased to give his reaction to that update on future.
The Nottingham Forest man took to Instagram on Wednesday (22 January) to send a message to the club’s supporters expressing his delight at his new deal.
Among those to react were several a number of the centre-back’s Premier League rivals, and fellow Brazilians, with Gabriel Magalhaes of Arsenal, as well as West Ham’s Lucas Paqueta and Emerson Palmieri all liking the post.

It feels like a huge coup for Nottingham Forest to secure this new deal for Murillo given how good he has been since moving to the City Ground.
That was always going to attract the attention of clubs who will feel they could have the funds to make an offer that might force the club to sell.
Now though that situation looks a long way away, and it is no surprise his fellow compatriots are keen to praise Murillo for his success, with Gabriel having also done so on other occasions recently.
In other news, Nottingham Forest could face competition in their attempts to sign Yoane Wissa from Brentford.
