West Ham backed to complete ‘brilliant’ N’Golo Kante signing – expert
West Ham have been backed to sign “brilliant” N’Golo Kante by the 31st August cut-off.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, former West Ham star Frank McAvennie admitted it would “be a dream” for him to see the France international play for the club.
The Irons reportedly had a verbal offer of £15million rejected by Al-Ittihad as the Premier League side attempted to bring the defensive midfielder back to the Premier League.
The Saudi Arabia club will demand a fee of at least £25million to consider selling the 33-year-old before the window ends.
Kante impressed during the European Championships, playing a crucial role in France’s performances.
The midfielder joined Al-Ittihad last summer after the expiration of his Chelsea contract and has gone on to play 46 times for the club.
He’s under contract with the Saudi Arabian outfit until 2026.
West Ham could make the signing of the summer in N’Golo Kante
Kante is a proven Premier League footballer, having won the title twice throughout his career in England.
He has made 227 appearances in the English top flight across his spells with Chelsea and Leicester City, scoring 12 goals and creating 17 assists.
“Brilliant, it would be the best signing I’ve seen them do for a while,” McAvennie told Football Insider.
“I like him, and that’s the kind of player we need, that’s the kind of player who just stops everything.
“It would be great because he’s coming back to England; I think it would be great for West Ham.
“If you can get him for £30million, bring him in; I think he’s a wonderful talent.
“You’ve seen him at the Euros, I think he’s outstanding even though he’s at Saudi.
“I would do it; I would say yes, that would be a dream for me.

“I’ve never seen him let Chelsea down, I’ve never seen him letting his country down and he does well for his country back home.
“That would be the best signing of the summer if we got him.”
