West Ham backed to seal ‘signing of the winter’ after Michael Keane latest – pundit
West Ham could seal one of the “signings of the winter” if they can sign Michael Keane from Everton.
That’s according to former Hibernian striker Tam McManus, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about the defender’s future.
According to the Liverpool Echo‘s Chris Beasley (1 December), Keane, 29, is set to leave the Toffees on loan during the January transfer window.

It is reported that West Ham, Fulham and Leicester City are all chasing the centre-back’s signature.
Keane has struggled for minutes this season with Tarkowski and Conor Coady now nailed-on starters under Frank Lampard.
David Moyes’s side are in the market for defensive reinforcements in the new year with Craig Dawson expected to leave and Kurt Zouma out injured.
“I think that is a deal that could work,” McManus told Football Insider‘s Ben Wild.
“It certainly works for West Ham. A loan would be ideal because if it doesn’t work out then he goes back to Everton like nothing happened.
“That Everton defence has not been their problem this season but I’m still surprised Keane hasn’t been getting more game time.
“He’s a good defender and he would do a job at West Ham. We know they need to boost their defence a little bit because they have had injuries.
“Keane has been a solid Premier League player for years and I think he would be one of the signings of the winter, to be honest.”

The defender has played just 22 minutes in the Premier League this season, in a game against Brentford on 27 August.
He joined the club in July 2017 and has made 189 appearances for the Goodison Park outfit.
