West Ham backed to sign Aaron Wan-Bissaka after latest twist – pundit

Alan Hutton has backed West Ham to win the race to land Aaron Wan-Bissaka.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Tottenham and Aston Villa defender suggested the Hammers have the most to offer Wan-Bissaka.

According to the Manchester Evening News (18 December), David Moyes’ side are interested in taking the 25-year-old on loan in the January window.

Man United are said to have informed the right-back that he is free to leave the club.

The Hammers join Leeds United, Wolves and former club Crystal Palace who are all believed to be interested in the defender.

Wan Bissaka’s current contract at Old Trafford expires in 2024 and the club have the option to extend by a further 12 months.

But the former England youth international has not started for the Red Devils since April and has only made one appearance this season.

Hutton suggested West Ham could beat out the other clubs to signing the defender.

I would say West Ham just simply because of how they have done in previous years,” he told Football Insider.

They have been doing well in the Europa League. In the league it has not been their best season. I still think they have got a great manager there, they seem settled they are a good group.

It really comes down to the player, contract. You would have to wait and see that then weigh up your options.

I would probably think West Ham would have the edge. It is a London club, he has been in London before with Palace.

A real excellent player if you want that defensive-minded footballer. I think he could definitely make both of those defences stronger.
