Medical Expert: West Ham ‘have no idea what’s going on’ after confirmed Masuaku news
West Ham are mystified as to the cause of Arthur Masuaku’s persistent knee issues.
That is the view of injury expert Ben Dinnery, who runs the Premier Injuries site and has a background in medicine and data analysis.
Masukaku has not featured since the Hammers’ 3-2 defeat to Leeds United on 16 January, which was his 10th successive appearance in the league.

David Moyes told club media on Monday (7 February) that the 28-year-old left-back is “going to see a specialist about his knee”.
This is the right course of action to get to the root of his ongoing issues, insists Dinnery.
“They have no idea at the moment about what’s going on,” he told Football Insider‘s Adam Williams.
“These talks with a specialist tell us that there are problems there that can’t be addressed internally.
“Masuaku is no stranger to a knee problem.
“There have been 18 reported knee-related absences during his time at the Hammers and 11 of those relate specifically to Masuaku’s knee.
“So it’s always been evident throughout his time with the club. He spent four months on the sidelines last season with inflammation around the knee.
“He hasn’t really been able to regain those levels of sharpness and fitness from when he had surgery at the back end of 2020.
“It’s difficult when you have that nagging thought whenever you’re on the training pitches. Maybe it is the right time to seek a second opinion.
“Unless it’s addressed, we may see this stop-start-stop with Masuaku continue.”

Masuaku has scored once and supplied one assist across 18 appearances this term.
His West Ham side moved into the top four after their 1-0 victory over Watford on Tuesday (8 February).
