West Ham ‘confident’ over Mohammed Kudus after release clause twist – expert
West Ham are confident Mohammed Kudus will stay at the club beyond the summer transfer window after his release clause expired.
This comes shortly after Football Insider revealed that the Hammers are desperate to hold on to Kudus beyond the summer transfer window.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, former West Ham striker Frank McAvennie revealed both he and the club are “delighted” that no clubs came in to trigger his release clause.
This has put them in a stronger position to hold on to their star man, with Julen Lopetegui keen to build his side around him.
West Ham confident of keeping Mohammed Kudus
Kudus stunned in his first season at the London Stadium, scoring 14 goals and providing several assists, proving why the club are so keen to retain his signature.
McAvennie insisted the club are “delighted” that Kudus will be staying, and echoed their feelings as he revealed he is now looking forward to the coming season.
“Oh yeah, he’ll be staying,” he told Football Insider.
“Nobody’s going to come in and pay the kind of money they want now, he’s only had one season in the Premier League, really.
“I’m delighted with that and the club will be too. I’m delighted nothing has happened with Paqueta yet as well.
“Kudus, Paqueta, Bowen. Some of these players at West Ham…

“I’m looking forward to next year now to see how this new manager is going to set up the team.
“The club are confident and I’m delighted with Kudus staying and I’m looking forward to next season big-time.”
In other news, West Ham are planning for Lucas Paqueta to remain at the club this summer.
