West Ham could hand Jesse Lingard £150k-a-week after source’s reveal – pundit
Alan Hutton has suggested a familiarity with West Ham and David Moyes could persuade Jesse Lingard to return to the club.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Premier League defender said the 29-year-old would “feel comfortable” returning to the London Stadium.
On Monday (4 July) this site revealed that Lingard wants £150,000-a-week at his next club.
David Moyes is said to have offered a long-term deal to the England international.
Lingard is available on a free transfer after the expiration of his Man United contract.
When asked if he thought West Ham could afford the salary demands, Hutton told Football Insider: “Yeah I think they could.
“They’ve got some big hitters within the squad at this moment in time that will be earning big money.
“I think you need to remember that Jesse Lingard’s coming in on a free, it’s not like you’re paying £35million for him plus a four or five-year deal at £150,000-a-week, then the package is huge.
“Right away they’re saving off the transfer fee. They’re probably more than capable of giving him that sort of money.

“He’s got options I think. He knows what West Ham’s all about, he knows the manager, he’ll feel comfortable going back there so I think that’s probably why it’s the first club that he’s thinking about going to.
“But I don’t see wages being a problem for West Ham.“
