West Ham could land Harry Maguire for ‘£30m’ after source’s reveal – expert
West Ham could land Harry Maguire from Man United for £30million.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, former Hammers striker Frank McAvennie urged the London club to go out and get the players they want.
The Irons have already seen a bid of £20m for the 30-year-old rejected.
Maguire‘s current contract at Old Trafford runs until 2025 after his £80m move from Leicester City in 2019.
But the defender has fallen down the pecking order at United and has had the captaincy revoked by Erik ten Hag.
On 2 August, Football Insider revealed that United are ready to sell the centre-back to the highest bidder.
The Hammers are considering a second bid for the out of favour defender but are aware a deal could be difficult given Maguire’s wage packet and reluctance to leave Old Trafford, as revealed by Football Insider (31 July).
West Ham are the only English top flight side yet to make a signing this summer, despite their £100m-plus sale of star man Declan Rice.
When asked how much would seal the deal for United, McAvennie told Football Insider: “I think £30m would be a good price for him.
“He is on big wages, Man United should take it.

“Every time he goes in he is getting the blame for everything. I think he would be good for West Ham.
“I do not understand why they do not go out and get all these players that they want. They keep talking about everyone because they are not signing anyone.“
