West Ham could seal ‘brilliant’ Konstantinos Mavropanos signing ‘from what I’ve heard’ – expert

Kevin Campbell has heaped praise on Arsenal defender Konstantinos Mavropanos amid interest from West Ham.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Gunners and Everton striker has “heard” that the 24-year-old has been “playing out of his skin” this season.

Mavropanos is currently on a season-long loan spell at Stuttgart from Arsenal.

According to Football.London‘s Chris Wheatley (25 April), West Ham are monitoring the centre-half’s progress in the Bundesliga.

The Hammers are in the market for another centre-back this summer having failed to land any of their targets in the January transfer window.

When asked if Mavropanos would be a good fit, Campbell told Football Insider‘s Dylan Childs: “From what I’ve heard, he’s done really well in Germany.

“Apparently he is playing out of his skin. The team is struggling and could get relegated but he is said to be playing quite brilliantly.

“I hope for the lad’s sake he gets a move because he is not getting a chance at Arsenal.

“Stuttgart will not be able to afford to keep him if they go down this season.

“One thing is for sure, West Ham need bodies. If they get the right bodies in it will make them a lot stronger for next season.”

Mavropanos has scored five goals in 30 appearances for Stuttgart across all competitions this season.

He has just over 12 months remaining on his contract with his parent club Arsenal.
