West Ham days away from first January signing as talks underway and offer submitted

West Ham could have their first January signing sealed and ready to go within the coming days.

The Hammers are in serious danger of suffering relegation from the Premier League, as they already sit five points adrift of safety ahead of their final game of 2025 against Brighton on Tuesday night.

Nuno Espirito Santo is under huge pressure at West Ham after a dire run of results, and he will be desperate to get as many reinforcements through the door as possible next month.

The East Londoners have already been linked with the likes of Rafiu Durosinmi and Wolves’ Jorgen Strand Larsen, but their opening signing of the window could be a much more unfamiliar name.

West Ham in talks with Red Bull Salzburg over Moussa Yeo

Football Insider exclusively revealed earlier this week that West Ham have tabled a £12million offer for Durosinmi, but that isn’t the only bid that they have submitted ahead of the imminent window.

Nuno and Co. also have their eyes fixed firmly on Red Bull Salzburg starlet Moussa Yeo, and he could be about to become their first January signing.

The Irons are in talks with the Austrian outfit over a deal to sign the 21-year-old, and have already submitted an offer worth £6.9m, according to Africa Foot.

Salzburg are “not against” the idea of selling Yeo this winter, but they want to include a 10 per cent sell-on clause as part of any agreement.

Talks between the two parties are ongoing, and West Ham are understood to want the signing to be done “in a few days.”

Who is Moussa Yeo?

West Ham are desperate for attacking reinforcements ahead of the second half of the season, and Yeo looks destined to join the forward group at the London Stadium.

The winger has three goal contributions to his name from 13 league appearances in the Austrian Bundesliga so far this season, after he burst onto the scene for Salzburg with seven in 22 games last term.

The Malian starlet was signed to a five-year contract by Salzburg back in 2022, but his performances have quickly attracted attention, and a big move now appears to be on the cards for him imminently.

West Ham have enjoyed early success with the signing of El Hadji Malick Diouf, and they are now looking to repeat that trick by signing a dominant player from a league of a similar standard.
