West Ham Exclusive: Nayef Aguerd could be next to go as new plan revealed

Nayef Aguerd could become one of the highest-profile players to quit West Ham in the summer transfer window, sources have told Football Insider.

A well-placed source has told Football Insider that the 27-year-old is more likely to leave the Irons than defensive colleague Kurt Zouma – despite extensive speculation linking the former Chelsea star with Saudi Pro League sides.

It is believed Aguerd is still wanted in the Middle East after original interest in his services first surfaced last summer (2023).

Football Insider revealed on Tuesday (27 February) that West Ham boss David Moyes is keen to keep club captain Zouma – if the Scot signs a new contract this summer.

Moyes is out of contract at the London Stadium in June and it is believed his future is key to keeping the ex-Chelsea defender, 29, with the Londoners.

Aguerd set to quit West Ham for Saudi Arabia this summer?

Aguerd could be allowed to leave the club despite having three years left to run on his deal at the London Stadium.

Moyes has confirmed he has a contract offer on the table but it is believed tensions with the fanbase and sporting director Tim Steidten mean he is yet to make a final decision on renewing.

Aguerd was benched on Monday (26 February) as West Ham ended their horror run of form with a 4-2 win over Brentford.
