West Ham expert stunned by ‘crazy’ bust-up footage – ‘He’ll stamp all over you’
Brentford ace Neal Maupay has a “bigger head than he thinks” after his bust-up with West Ham United assistant coach Kevin Nolan.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, former Hammers and Celtic striker Frank McAvennie was baffled that the striker would pick to confront Nolan.
At halftime of West Ham’s 4-2 victory over the Bees last month (26 February), the former Brighton forward was seen in a verbal altercation with Nolan and had to be pulled away by teammates after he was supposedly waiting outside the officials’ dressing room.
Thomas Frank’s side were unhappy that a penalty call went against them in the London Stadium clash, with Nolan seemingly angered that Maupay felt it necessary to confront referee Simon Hooper.
West Ham‘s coach‘s Kevin Nolan “stamp all over” Maupay
McAvennie blasted Maupay and admitted that Nolan could “stamp all over” the feisty attacker.
“I think Maupay has a bigger head than he thinks,” he told Football Insider.
“You’re crazy. If you want to pick a fight with anyone, don’t pick a fight with Kevin Nolan!
“He’ll stamp all over you.
“Kevin is a great lad and he will stick up for his players at West Ham.
“I don’t like seeing players get sent off, so Maupay had to be careful.

“If Kevin had really reacted to what Maupay said, it could have gone the other way and he could have been sent off.
“I could see when the camera panned on Nolan that he was not happy!”
