West Ham face ‘massive concern’ on Jarrod Bowen as Mohammed Kudus likely to go
Jarrod Bowen’s future at West Ham has been highlighted as a major worry ahead of the transfer window as fellow attacking star Mohammed Kudus moves closer to an exit.
Since Graham Potter arrived as Julen Lopetegui’s replacement midway through the season, the Irons have steadily slipped down the Premier League table.
A 2-0 win over Man United boosted West Ham above Ruben Amorim’s struggling side, but the result does not diminish how poor the ex-Chelsea boss’ start to life in East London has been.
Coming off the back of last summer’s transfer window that saw them spend over £120million on the likes of Max Kilman, the outspoken striker Niclas Fullkrug, and Crysencio Summerville, the Hammers once again need to rejuvenate their squad.
The hierarchy at the London Stadium have shown a willingness to do so, as West Ham are reportedly willing to let up to 15 senior players leave this coming transfer window, but to finance their rebuild, some star names may be departing according to BBC Sport.

West Ham ‘could get a lot of money’ by selling Jarrod Bowen
Simon Stone, BBC Sport’s chief football news reporter, revealed in their transfer Q&A that selling Kudus is now a “distinct possibility”, whilst also highlighting concerns around Bowen’s status (13 May, 10:34am), writing: “With Lucas Paqueta’s future still uncertain, selling Mohammed Kudus is now a distinct possibility.
“The massive concern for me is around skipper Jarrod Bowen. West Ham could get a lot of money for him, but he feels like someone you build a squad around.
“Head of recruitment Kyle Macaulay will be a key figure in identifying potential targets, having worked with Potter since his days in Sweden.
“I would think more dynamism in midfield will be a major aim, as well as a consistent goalscorer.”

Graham Potter faces huge summer transfer window
Football Insider Verdict
Keep or sell? That is the multi-million pound question facing West Ham going into the summer transfer window.
If Bowen were to become available, there is little doubt that a bidding war would ensue for the 28-year-old, who is one of the Premier League’s best attacking players.
West Ham would likely have no trouble in netting a £100million-plus fee for their talisman, which would do wonders for their standings with the league’s profit and sustainability rules (PSR).

But in doing so, they would be cashing in on the heartbeat of the team and if last season’s transfer business is anything to go by, the Irons will struggle to replace their star.
Leeds and Burnley look far more capable of mounting a proper survival challenge next season, West Ham would be well advised to once again hedge their bets on Bowen’s goals being enough to secure their survival, and look to finance their summer business through the sales of other, more expendable players.
