West Ham fans fume as ‘awful’ appointment looms amid Nuno Espirito Santo uncertainty: ‘What a shambles’
West Ham fans are not happy with Nuno Espirito Santo being backed by their board as former Ibiza manager Paco Jemez prepares to join his backroom staff.
Nuno was appointed as West Ham’s new boss to succeed Graham Potter in September, but he has been unable to lead them away from the relegation zone over the last few months.
They are one place and four points behind Nottingham Forest in 18th right now, with relegation a real possibility after a 2-1 defeat to Nuno‘s old club last week.
West Ham’s board are not planning to sack Nuno, despite their poor form, and he has been given the chance to bring in numerous new signings so far this month as a result of their backing.
A key clash against capital rivals Spurs awaits this weekend, and Nuno could well be joined by a new face in the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium dugout, following new reports.

Paco Jemez set to join Nuno’s backroom staff at West Ham
West Ham are reportedly set to hire Jemez as an assistant coach to Nuno, after he was recently sacked from his role as UD Ibiza’s manager in October.
The former Spain international has held several managerial roles in his home country over the years, most notably at Rayo Vallecano, Las Palmas and Cordoba.
He took over as the new boss of third-tier Ibiza in November 2024, but was unable to lead them to promotion last season and was sacked recently after a poor start to this campaign.
West Ham fans left confused and annoyed at Jemez news
Jemez has never worked in England as a player or manager, nor has he worked with Nuno, and so his apparent imminent arrival has come as a surprise to many Hammers supporters.
The 55-year-old is incredibly experienced, but West Ham fans want Nuno sacked, and so someone coming in to assist him behind the scenes is not what they want to see right now.
Taking to X to react to the Jemez news, one fan said: “Only took 3 months to get one of his (Nuno) staff members in. What a shambles of a football club.”
While another said: “Why are we continuing to back this absolute coward of a manager? Bloke should be gone already, let alone be getting more staff.“
And one supporter added: “This bloke looks awful, look at his record.”
