West Ham handed ‘absolutely huge’ boost after what I’ve heard from Moyes – ex-manager
Alex McLeish has insisted Tuesday’s 4-1 win over Watford will have given West Ham an “absolutely huge” confidence boost.
The former Scotland manager, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, suggested the victory would help the Hammers get over their “surprise” poor performances.
Speaking to club media after the game on Tuesday (28 December), David Moyes insisted the Irons have rebuilt some confidence after a difficult run of form in recent weeks.

The Hammers had won just one of their seven previous Premier League games before Tuesday’s victory.
McLeish insisted a convincing performance would be a real shot in the arm for Moyes and his men.
McLeish told Football Insider assistant editor Russell Edge: “A huge win. An absolutely huge win.
“Watching them lose to Southampton, everybody was raising their eyebrows. It was a surprise given the form and the position they are in the league.
“They’re still a growing team and it’s a learning process with them. Moyes will be aware of the mental side of things with them.
“They can’t sustain it for 20 games in a row or whatever. I’m not sure what it was before they went on this particular run but they’re still a really good side.
“When they play their football the way they do, players can get tired, players can lose a little bit of motivation. That’s why top clubs win the leagues and why other clubs do really well but just don’t quite do it.
“They don’t have the quality or the spending power of the top ones and certainly the mental side as well.
“It was good for West Ham and there’s nothing like a good three points to get your confidence back up again.”

West Ham currently sit fifth in the Premier League table.
However, Tottenham and Manchester United, in sixth and seventh respectively, have two games in hand over the Irons.
In other news, pundit claims West Ham cannot afford to carry “two passengers” after Moyes confession.
