West Ham hit by multiple ‘massive blows’ after expert’s Kurt Zouma update – pundit
West Ham will avoid a relegation battle this season even after suffering multiple “massive blows”.
That is according to Spurs expert John Wenham, who regularly breaks news about the club on his Lilywhite Rose social media channels.
West Ham confirmed on 24 November that Kurt Zouma, 28, had undergone surgery on a knee injury.
On 3 December, injury expert and Football Insider pundit Ben Dinnery told this site the defender could be out for up to six weeks after going under the knife.
This would rule Zouma out of the Hammers’ first Premier League game back after the World Cup, against Arsenal on Boxing Day.
Despite this fresh blow, Wenham is certain the Hammers have what it takes to avoid relegation.
“I always look at West Ham’s team and think there are too many good players, for that [relegation battle],” Wenham told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.
“I also think they can beat anyone at the London Stadium. They have been so unlucky this season, they spent loads of money on Aguerd and he’s been injured.
“Now Zouma is injured as well. These are massive blows to them. It also seems Craig Dawson is totally unsettled at the club and wants to go back up North, they are missing a lot of centre-backs.
“But you look at the rest of the team, Rice, Bowen, Scamacca, Fornals, they have a lot of good players. I can’t see them going down.
“We also need to get out of this mindset of saying we are halfway through the season. We’re not, we have only played 14 or 15 games.
“There is still a lot of time for clubs to turn their seasons around.”

Zouma has started all but two of the Hammers’ Premier League games this season.
He has scored one goal.
In other news, Kieran Maguire has tipped an “auction” for West Ham as the “deal of the century” is cited.
