Transfer to Italy on cards for West Ham ace in January after recent developments – report
West Ham goalkeeper Joe Hart is willing to make a move back to Italy in an attempt to reignite his chances of going to the World Cup with England, according to a report.
The Sun claim that Hart’s recent axing from the first-team has caused him to fear for his place in Gareth Southgate’s squad, and he is now thought to be open to a move back to Serie A to secure his England slot.
Hart, a summer loan signing from Manchester City, spent last year on loan in Italy with Torino, and reportedly hopes that he did enough in Turin to encourage any other side there to make a January move for him.
Napoli have been touted as a possible destination if their current stopper Pepe Reina leaves next month, but sources close to the player claim that any suitable top-flight vacancy would do.
Any deal would involve significant financial discussions, with West Ham paying a large chunk of Hart’s big City salary.
If an Italian club were to come in for Hart, they would have to agree to match the Hammers’ contribution for the switch to take place.
Football Insider verdict:
Hart must be getting truly desperate to be discussing offers that don’t exist. While he may have established himself as a name in Italy with his spell at Torino last year, he didn’t exactly set the world alight with his displays for the club. Hart is still a quality keeper but he seems to have been beset by a huge loss of confidence recently, and it is unclear if any club would want to take him on right now. Adrian looks well-set to keep the Hammers’ number one spot, so it is no wonder he is thinking of a move away, but it seems a bit ridiculous to be discussing offers that quite frankly may never come.
