West Ham likely to accept Man City offer for Lucas Paqueta – sources

West Ham midfielder Lucas Paqueta is still being tracked by Man City ahead of this year’s summer window, sources have told Football Insider.

The treble-winners moved to sign the 26-year-old last summer (2023) and it was widely reported that they had agreed an £80million fee with the Irons.

However, it soon emerged that Paqueta was the subject of a betting breach investigation by FIFA and the FA and the move collapsed.

Football Insider revealed on 8 February that West Ham and City are set to discover the verdict of Paqueta’s betting breaches soon with the investigation now close to being completed.

It is believed Pep Guardiola’s side are still keen to land the Brazil international in the upcoming summer window.

West Ham set to accept Paqueta offer from Man City

A well-placed source has told Football Insider that West Ham are unlikely to resist an offer for the midfielder which meets their price tag.

Irons boss David Moyes is out of contract at the end of the season and it is believed he has been offered a new deal – but his future will have no bearing on keeping Paqueta at the club past this summer.

The ex-Lyon star is currently out with a calf problem and the Londoners are yet to win since he picked up the injury against Bristol City last month.

Paqueta has managed five goals and six assists in 27 games across all competitions so far in the 2023-24 campaign.

The 42-cap Brazil international is under contract at the London Stadium until June 2027.

He joined Moyes’ side in 2022 for a reported club-record fee of £51million.
