West Ham news: Campbell issues ‘huge’ verdict after Jarrod Bowen report

Kevin Campbell has claimed “it would be huge” for West Ham if Jarrod Bowen put pen to paper on a new long-term contract at the London Stadium.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Arsenal and Everton striker said the 25-year-old “will only get better” and can help David Moyes’ side “go again next season.”

Bowen has been one of the Premier League’s standout players this season – no Hammers player has more goals or assists than the forward.

West Ham

According to the Daily Mail (16 May), West Ham want to reward the winger with a bumper deal for his success.

It is reported that a deal would see Bowen more than double his current £60,000-a-week wages.

His current agreement at the London Stadium expires at the end of June 2025.

When asked by Football Insider‘s Dylan Childs for his assessment of the news, Campbell said: “It would be huge, without a shadow of a doubt.

“He has been the star performer for West Ham this season. He has produced goals, assists and performances this season.

“Listen, he torched [Oleksandr] Zinchenko at the weekend. Zinchenko did not know what had hit him. Bowen’s movement took him way beyond Zinchenko.

“He has calmness in front of goal as well. It was a brilliant performance.

“If West Ham could tie him down that team can go again next season. He is still a young man as well. He will only get better.”
