West Ham news: Danny Mills issues ‘brilliant’ Jarrod Bowen verdict, names the Big-6 teams he’d get into
West Ham star Jarrod Bowen is “playing brilliantly” but must reach Harry Kane’s level of consistency to earn a “top move”, according to Danny Mills.
The former England defender, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, claimed the 25-year-old is not yet ready for a move to a “top club”.
Bowen scored his 11th goal of the season to secure a 1-0 win for West Ham against Watford on Tuesday (8 February).
According to Calciomercato (10 February), Man United have “set their sights” on the winger ahead of a potential summer raid.
When asked how long West Ham could keep hold of Bowen, Mills told Football Insider‘s Connor Whitley: “As long as they want.
“They’re into the Champions League spots. I know there are teams with games in hand and such, but he’s come so far from Hull City two years ago.
“He’s playing regular European football and scoring at the top end of the Premier League, and there’s talk of an England call-up.
“Does he get into those top teams if he moves on from West Ham? No, he doesn’t. Not in the Chelsea side, Liverpool side, Man United or Man City side.
“Then you’re looking at Arsenal and Spurs – and that would be a sideways move from West Ham right now.
“He’s playing brilliantly, he’s bang in form. But it comes down to consistency. You can’t just do it over six months or a season, you have to do what Harry Kane does.
“You have to do what top players do – and that is performing week-in, week-out. That’s how you can earn these top moves.”

Only Mohamed Salah (25) has registered more goal involvements than Bowen (16) in the Premier League this term.
The 25-year-old signed for the Hammers from Hull City for a reported £22million in 2020.
In other news, West Ham are set to open talks with midfield star over a new deal.
