West Ham news: Expert ‘amazed’ by ‘unusual’ David Moyes move after Arnaut Danjuma update
David Moyes’ decision to end the West Ham hunt for Arnaut Danjuma is “a breath of fresh air”.
That’s according to former Aston Villa and Scotland boss Alex McLeish, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about the Hammers’ hunt for a new attacker.
As per The Daily Mail (1 July), Moyes has pulled the plug on a move for Villarreal star Danjuma, 25, after deciding he isn’t the best fit for the Hammers.

He reportedly has a £38million release clause in his contract with the Spanish club – which expires in 2026.
It is now claimed West Ham will now focus on re-signing Jesse Lingard as the club looks to boost its attacking options ahead of the 2022-23 campaign.
McLeish was amazed that the manager has had the final say on this deal.
“That is unusual in this modern day,” McLeish told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild
“You don’t tend to hear the manager’s point of view like that. It’s amazing to hear that.
“It sounds like he isn’t convinced and you have to back the manager. He will have done analysis with his own eyes.
“He will see for himself what he sees from the player and what is not correct with the deal.
“It is certainly a breath of fresh air.”

Centre-back Nayef Aguerd has already wrapped up a move to the London Stadium this summer.
West Ham will play in the Europa Conference League in the 2022/23 season.
In other news, pundit claims West Ham could now sign James Ward-Prowse amid £25m claim.
