West Ham news: Pundit hails David Moyes ‘sixth sense’ after Rush Green reveal

Paul Robinson has heaped praise on West Ham manager David Moyes for his approach to Wolves game on Sunday.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Spurs and England goalkeeper said the 58-year-old’s ability to “understand the mood” of his squad proves that he’s “a top-class manager.”

The Hammers bounced back to winning ways on Sunday with a 1-0 win over Wolves at the London Stadium.

As quoted by Football.London (27 February), Moyes revealed he “changed things up” at the club’s Rush Green training headquarters last week.

He added how a change of system allowed his team to flourish.

When asked by Football Insider‘s Dylan Childs for his thoughts on the change, Robinson said: “That is the sign of a top-class manager.

“He saw what was going on. He understood what the mood of his players were and how to get them going again.

“It’s so important to have an understanding of how the squad is feeling. You get a sense when things are not quite right. It is strange. It is like a sixth sense.

“Over the past few weeks, results and performances haven’t been what they want. As a player and as a manager you get a feeling. For Moyes to sense that and to mix up training is credit to him.

“I know Moyes is extremely passionate about what he does. He is a workaholic. He works so hard both on and off the training ground. Every minute of the day he is thinking about his team. He is engrossed 24/7.

“To have that kind of a knowledge and experience in those situations is invaluable. Moyes is a top, top manager.”
