West Ham news: Pundit issues ‘massive’ signings claim after David Moyes confession
West Ham plan to mount a sustained push on the top-four places on the basis of their transfer targets, according to Paul Robinson.
However, the former Premier League goalkeeper, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, fears David Moyes’s side will struggle to land top players without Champions League football.
West Ham failed with bids for Kalvin Phillips and Raphinha in January.

As confirmed by David Moyes (25 February), the Hammers also tried to sign now Liverpool winger Luis Diaz in the mid-season window.
Speaking to Football.London after Saturday’s defeat to Liverpool (5 March), Moyes confessed he missed out on adding to his “small squad” in January.
When asked if the Irons failed to make signings because of unrealistic targets, Robinson told Football Insider:
“West Ham’s targets were realistic for where they want to be but perhaps not where they are right now. That was the problem.
“If they want these players they have to be in a position where they can attract these players.

“If they want to sign players on the level of Luis Diaz and Kalvin Phillips then they have to be in the Champions League. West Ham in the Champions League is a massively different proposition to West Ham challenging for the Champions League.
“The fact that they are targeting these players shows the ambition and intentions of the club. They want to be up there with the best.”
In other news, West Ham have been tipped to seal a ‘brilliant’ deal for a 21-year-old who is ‘similar to Eden Hazard’.
