West Ham news: Pundit thrilled by Moyes after ‘great’ pictures emerge

Paul Robinson is thrilled to see West Ham manager David Moyes maintained “tradition” after the win over Kidderminster Harriers.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Tottenham and England goalkeeper said it was “great to see” Moyes, 58, sharing a drink with his Kidderminster counterpart after Saturday’s game.

The Irons came back from a goal down to beat Kidderminster after extra time.

As pictured after the game by club media (5 February), Moyes shared a beer with Russell Penn and his staff.

Speaking to Football.London (5 February), the Hammers boss was full of praise for his opponents.

When asked by Football Insider for his reaction to the images, Robinson said: “It’s great to see.

“Gone are the days where the managers drink together after every game. It’s all changed.

“For the managers to socialise after the game was a pretty normal thing. But with the influx of foreign managers coming into the game you do not always see it. People have different habits and different behavioural traits. Quite a lot of the managers don’t socialise now so it is nice to see.

“Moyes is one of the traditional managers. He is a genuinely good man who likes to keep certain traditions in the game going.”

Speaking after the match, Moyes said: “They played very well Kidderminster and made it really tough.

“And, you know, we were fortunate to get through it they were unfortunate not to at least take it to penalty kicks.”
