West Ham owners ‘guilty’ after David Moyes reveal ‘never seen before’ – pundit
West Ham are “guilty” of not investing in their playing squad and are “suffering” the consequences now, according to Paul Robinson.
The former Spurs and England goalkeeper, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, suggested it is unfair to point the finger at Michail Antonio, 31, for the Hammers’ struggles in the Premier League.
West Ham were far from their best in a 3-1 defeat at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Sunday.
As quoted by Football.London (20 March), David Moyes singled out Antonio in his post-match press conference.
He said the centre-forward “did not reach his level” and suggested the difference between the two sides was their strikers.
When asked by Football Insider‘s Dylan Childs for his thoughts on Moyes’ comments, Robinson said: “It is a strange one.
“We have not seen that from David Moyes before, especially not when talking about one of his better players. It is unusual for Moyes to single out someone.
“He must feel that it was needed even though Antonio has been one of the best players since he returned.
“I just think West Ham are guilty of not investing in their side. You cannot keep churning out the same 12 or 13 players week in, week out if you want to compete on multiple fronts.
“They looked flat at Spurs. The Sevilla game looked to have taken its toll. West Ham did not offer any real problems.

“They are suffering after not invested in January. They made noises that they were trying to invest but, as usual, nothing came through the door.
“It has been spoken out for some time that West Ham’s squad is light, especially up front. Those criticisms are coming to fruition. It is clear that the squad can’t cope with the demands.”
In other news, a pundit has claimed this may be real reason Moyes pointed the finger at West Ham star.
