West Ham plan to accept Danny Ings offer & sign another striker – sources
West Ham are planning to accept an offer for striker Danny Ings if the fee will help them land another forward, sources have told Football Insider.
Football Insider revealed on Monday (5 August) that the Irons will need to sell players if they are to add another front man before the 30 August transfer deadline.
They have already wrapped up a £27million deal for Borussia Dortmund star Niclas Fullkrug, who was announced on Monday.
He will be the first-choice striker ahead of Michail Antonio and Ings – but Julen Lopetegui feels both players still have something to give for his new-look West Ham side.
Nevertheless, the London club could consider offers for their backup stars if sales will allow them to pursue another striker in the market.
The Irons cannot afford and do not have space for another forward in their squad as things stand.
West Ham had been in negotiations to sign Aston Villa forward Jhon Duran but that deal has been scrapped following the arrival of Fullkrug.
West Ham restricted in the race for another striker signing
One sticking point in a potential exit for Ings could be his wage demands.
According to talkSPORT, the ex-Southampton hitman earns around £120,000-a-week – and sources say he is unwilling to take a pay cut to move away from the Irons.

He managed just one goal in the 2023-24 campaign and has scored just four goals in total since signing for West Ham 18 months ago.
The 32-year-old is out of contract at the London Stadium in less than 12 months.
