Operating down the left wing, he had little effect in the first half, when David Moyes would have wanted him to have injected energy and pace into the attack.
That did arrive in the second half but he still lacked the cutting edge to really break down the Toffees’ defence, who looked a little leaky despite keeping a clean sheet.
An off day but there were those who were more at fault for the eventual result, so may escape much of the scorn from the fans.
