West Ham player ratings in clash v Everton: Attacking star woeful in 3/10 display
Cheikhou Kouyate – 5
Must apportion much of the blame for Everton’s second goal, with his lack of defensive tracking crucial to allowing Rooney to drift in at the back and score his second of the night.
He is supposed to bring energy and dynamism to the midfield but it was severely lacking at Goodison Park, and David Moyes will be scratching his head as to why that was.
The second half did see him pull his socks up and put himself about a lot more effectively but it was a case of too little, too late.
