West Ham player ratings v Stoke: Worldie from Lanzini but 25-year-old disappoints

Goalkeeper and Defenders

Adrian (Goalkeeper) – 6: The Spanish giant was simply not tested enough today to make a real impact, as not one of Stoke’s 17 shots was on target – however, his distrbution was good, and it’s another clean sheet to add to the collection.

Pablo Zabaleta (Right Wing Back) – 7: The Premier League veteran used his strength really well on the ball, and worked well within the defensive unit that has now three consectuive clean-sheets.

James Collins (Centre Back) – 6: Played in place of the suspended Reid, and his lack of playing time showed as Stoke captain Ryan Shawcross had his head on the ball far too many times.

Angelo Ogbonna (Centre Back) – 6: Tasked with marking the Premier League’s al time leader for headed goals in Peter Crouch, Ogbonna did well. Another more deadly team could have easily found the net with the set piece defenses being off colour however.

Aaron Creswell (Centre Back) – 7: Always going to be a tough day at the office when marking Shaqiri, but the young Englishman did well, and linked up play with the forwards cleverly.

Arthur Masuaku (Left Wing Back) – 8: Almost unplayable at times in the first half. Lots of space to run into and always looked a threat, needless booking for time wasting in the second half however.
